The idea came to me in a dream last night. I was talking to an old friend who had died a couple years ago. I asked him how it was there in heaven, and he said, "about the way it oughta be."
So when I got up this morning (Christmas), I rushed down to my computer and built myself another blog (I already had one - Living in the Slow Lane). It took me about 15 minutes. Hey, cut me some slack, I was still sleepy!
Another thought came to me almost immediately. Almost two decades ago, when my mom died, I flew down to Abilene, Texas, where she had lived the last few years of her life. My brother, his wife and I were in a rather somber mood as we drove to the grave sight. In such moments, I seem almost compelled to say something which might lighten the mood. Remembering that my mother's favorite activity was to talk to someone (anyone) about her boys and their families, I said,"I know what Mama is doing now. She is talking to a lot of people about her family. And if heaven is anything like it oughta be, everyone will be listening."
